Gumball Machines

In March, the kindergarten classes made gumball machines. We looked at a real gumball machines and talked about the shapes we saw. We discussed how a 3D circle is a sphere. The students made circle gumballs with either crayons or paint dotters. That same day, we also took turns rolling marbles (spheres) with the primary colors.

The second week we cut out circles, folded our papers to have symmetrical machine bases, traced our gumballs, cut our marble rolling into strips and squares and glued it all together.

When this was complete, some students wanted to draw the gumball machines!!
