Underwater Habitats with Beth P.

Adaptive Art students at Vickery Mills Elementary enjoyed learning about the ancient Japanese art of Gyotaku printing. Unlike the traditional technique, where actual fish are used for printing, students created their prints using rubber fish. They enjoyed printing different size fish and experimenting with different colors of ink to give their fish a unique look. After looking at underwater habitats and discussing the many things that can be found along the ocean bottom, students created a collage of an underwater habitat. They were able to create visual space through overlapping various pieces within their collage. Their wonderful printed fish were added to their collage. The final pieces were awesome.
