About Adaptive Art

Adaptive Art seeks to provide the art curriculum using techniques and tools addressing the learning styles of exceptional students. Both communication approaches and art making methods are geared to meet the needs of exceptional learners. We seek to both teach and inspire our classes to greater educational levels through art.

Tools

Pencils, Pens, Crayons, Brushes, Stamps, Rollers, Cotton Balls, Straws. We find the right tool for the right job for every student. If we can't find that tool, then we will build it.

Communication

Using words and pictures via technology as well as traditional methods helps our students connect to their art lessons. Let's hear the definition, see a picture of it, view a video, and even feel a sample-there are a variety of ways to help pupils understand the curriculum.

Mediums

Painting, drawing, collage, weaving, and sculpture are just some of the mediums we explore through the adaptive art experience. Engaging approaches both address the curriculum and keep young minds interested in our art projects.

Processes

Each adaptive art teacher has a unique style to help their students explore art. Carefully planned steps for each project ensure every exceptional learner has the opportunity to experience art in their own way.
