Aboriginal Art With a Twist!

This fall, middle school GNET's students found an interest in exploring and experimenting with multiple types of art. We have recently combined Aboriginal Art and Mosaics! We looked at many images from different cultures across the world and discussed common themes, such as animals and line design. The students thoroughly enjoyed the animal images - particularly the reptiles, so we decided to focus on those. After picking an animal, the students used different colors of 1x1 centimeter squares, our mosaic tiles, to create their own cool Aboriginal Art using line designs! Take a look:
