Jasper Johns' Numbers

My 1st grade AU class explored Jasper Johns' painting '0 through 9' and decided to make a version of our own! Students were allowed choose from precut letters and numbers. They used their fine motor skills to trace the letters and/or numbers in pencil. After each character, they traced over the pencil lines with black marker to create definite lines. Students then picked various colored pencils to fill in each smaller section. Their favorite part was trying to guess what letters or numbers their classmates chose!
